Always my favorite place. Not busy (although I really want it to be busy cuz I personally don't want this place to close down). If you guys order the set of grilled intestines, please leave it a little for the waitress to cook fried rice with it for you. The soup is really tasty too, and it's not pricey compared to the intestines set. Talking about the service, Omma, she can't speak english well but she's really into giving out a awesome services so it feels like home every time I walk in. Please support this! I guarantee the food!! I don't want this place to ever closeeee~
usually not busy so you can get seated pretty quickly. the waitress who works there is super nice and funny but she does only speak korean; her english is very limited. I personally enjoy my time there everytime I go because I really love the vibes everytime I'm here (which is more like just eating at home) but objectively service is on the slower side, so if you are impatient maybe skip this place. But food is great; love the gopchang/daechang with the kimchi cold noodle combo!! cuts right through the grease:) Caution: the parking lot here is always super busy.
I love brisket, so Chadolpoong is right up my alley. As a place that specializes in beef brisket, they serve a Beef Brisket Tofu Stew. I ordered it for takeout because I was craving a Korean stew, and this hit the spot. Generous portions of meat and so flavorful. The ladies that work here are also so kind. If you're not down to wait in some of the other spots in this plaza, Chadolpoong is definitely a solid option. I'd want to come back to try their other beef brisket items.
I love this place so much - it's right across from Chapman Plaza and near a hotspot in ktown, but seems like a hidden gem. I feel that it is probably overlooked as it is hidden in between other amazing restaurants like Quarters, Hangari Kalguksu, Sun Nong Dan, etc. but I'm not complaining as there has never been a wait :) The woman that took our order seems to be the owner of the restaurant; she doesn't speak English too well but she has a very friendly and open demeanor that definitely makes the place feel very homey. I have been to this place three times now and everytime it's been so good - we typically order the small intestine combo (small intestine, large intestine, and beef heart) to share and its more than enough food for us. The quality of the meat is so good and it is very delicious. At the end of the meal, make sure to leave a bit of the meat because they come and mix in fried rice - this is my favorite part!! Its so yummy and flavorful :)
My girl friend and I have decided to try all of the restaurants with intestines in Koreatown, and Chadolpoong was the next on the list. We headed over for a late dinner on a Saturday night, and there was no wait. The restaurant itself is very simple, and was incredibly tidy. We opted for the small option, with crispy intestines, and it did not disappoint. Our only failure was that we didn't opt for the large option to enjoy more intestines, but that's a mistake we will correct for our next visit. The cherry on top? The fried rice at the end of the meal, which our server prepared for us. Absolutely perfection. The parking situation is typically fairly busy in this location, whether in the lot or on the street.
The small and large intestines were phenomenal with the vegetables and was super flavorful, chewy, and juicy. We got the Large combo, which was shared by 4 people and the proportion was perfect for 4. They make you fried rice after you finish, and it was my favorite part. They recommended that you let it sit on the fire so it was perfectly crispy! The side dishes paired well and the soybean paste stew was great too. The service was great as well! They were very friendly and checked up on us frequently for water and side dish refills. Unfortunately, they only offer valet parking.
My go-to here is the intestines combo (small intestines, large intestines, and abomasum). I've tried several other places, and Chadolpoong is one of the best places to get intestines! I always choose the savory option for the intestines over the crispy. The small order of the intestines combo is enough for two people. The intestines are savory without being too rich/overwhelming. They're always cooked just right, so the intestines still have this juicy and chewy texture. In addition, they also give you rice to make fried rice, some side dishes, and doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew). The doenjang-jjigae is also really good - it has a deep flavor and compliments the intestines well. I appreciate how they give detailed instructions on how to reheat the intestines. In addition, they pack everything neatly and make it very easy to have an enjoyable takeout! Service: I mostly get takeouts here, but I've had one dine-in experience back then where the waiter acted like he didn't want to serve us and was quite unfriendly the entire time. But I went here recently and had a pleasant experience. The worker was an older Korean lady who was very friendly and kind, despite the language barrier. Parking: They have valet, but there's also a lot of metered parking around the area. This place is a must-go-to for some delicious intestines!
